Modern aspects of the pathogenesis of senile cataract in human (literature review)

This paper summarizes information on the senile cataract morbidity, important aspects of the pathologic morphology of the different types of age cataract in human in the world. A brief historical outline is presented of the theories of the etiopathogenesis of senile cataract including review of methods of the experimental modeling of cataract. The aim of this monograph — is to attract attention of investigators to the pathogenically proved necessity of differentiated approach of formation of preventive and therapeutic measures of human senile cataract depending on its specific kind.
