Distribution of radio-pharmacologic medicine in ocular tunicae after infrasound phonophoresis and retrobulbar injection through an irrigation system

Purpose. To study an effect of infrasound phonophoresis (ISP) ratio increase up to 3 times per day in the anterior infectious less method of medicine bringing to an efficiency of remedy accumulation in tissues of posterior segment of the eye compared with their injections into retro-bulbar space through the irrigation system.
Material and methods. The study was performed in 10 chinchilla rabbits. Animals were divided into an experimental and a comparative groups 5 rabbits in each. In the experimental group the radio pharmacologic medicines (RPM) were injected by the ISP method. In the comparative group the RPM were injected into retro-bulbar space through the irrigation system.
Results and Conclusion. The performed studies showed, that the ISP ratio increase up to 3 sessions daily, elevates the medicine concentration in all structures of the eyeball and multiply increases the RPM quantity injected into the retro-bulbar space through the irrigation system up to 6 times daily, except the optic nerve. In the optic nerve the RPM concentration was practically at the same level in both methods of medicine delivery.
