Assessment of biomechanic strength of postoperative cicatrix after femtosecond penetrating keratoplasty
A comparative assessment of biomechanic strength of postoperative cicatrix after the femtosecond (Fs) and the traditional penetrating keratoplasty (PK) was carried out. In order to form Fs-PK cornea flaps the IntraLase-Fs femtosecond laser was used with the pulse repetition frequency 60 kHz, the pulse energy 2.1-2.2 mJ, the distance between pulses 2-5 µm, between levels 2-5 µm, and for the traditional PK — metallic piston-like trepans. An analysis of corneal samples of isolated eyes of rabbits was to carry out 3 months after PK using the universal test machine ZWICK/ROELL Z005. It was detected that the postoperative cicatrix after Fs-PK has the most strength compared with the traditional PK.
