PCO removal method in children pseudophakic eyes
A PCO removal method in children pseudophakic eyes was developed. It consists of a limbal or corneal paracentesis (0.8-1.0 mm), mydriatic and viscoelastic injection in anterior chamber; pars plana sclerotomy (0.8-1.0 mm) with simultaneous dissection and formation (with knife, if necessary with vitreal scissors) of a flap from PCO film; its removal with Adamjuk-Elshnig’s cells from anterior layers of vitreous by vitrectomy; sclerotomy suture fixation and then viscoelastic removal from anterior chamber; 185 children (269 eyes) with pseudophakic eyes were operated by developed technique.
The developed PCO removal method in children pseudophakic eyes allows to perform a set size aperture in optical zone of posterior capsule under IOL optics with simultaneous Adamjuk-Elshnig’s cells removal without its displacement in vitreous body and to receive transparent visual axis for the long period.
