Abstract
Valuation of the role of HLA B 35 in determinism and evolution of primitive uveitis.
Uveitis is an inflammation of the middle layer of the eye — iris, ciliary body and the choroid, and often leads to a significant reduction in visual function and blindness. According to the American Association of Immunologists in the United States it is responsible for approximately 10% of the blindness in the United States and about 100.000 new cases per year. Uveitis may develop following eye trauma or surgery, in association with systemic diseases, or may be a condition isolated to the eye itself. In our study we investigate the role of histocompatibility antigen HLA B 35 in the onset of the autoimmune uveitis, his influence on the severity and the course of the disease.
