Purpose. To develop a mathematical model for predicting the myopia course.
Material and methods. 294 patients with myopia (294 eyes) were examined. The age of patients is from 5 to 17 years. Progressive myopia was detected in 142 patients (142 eyes), stable myopia – in 152 patients (152 eyes). The observation period is from 1 to 3 years.
Results. The mathematical model for predicting the myopia course has been developed basing on data of multivariate correlation and regression analyses of biometric indicators, biomechanical properties of the corneoscleral membrane and level of intraocular pressure in 294 patients (294 eyes) with accommodation disorders.
Conclusion. The mathematical model that used in calculation the magnitude of the sclera stress and the ciliary body microfluctuation coefficient was the most accurate (prediction of the myopia progression – 94.4%).
Key words: myopia, accommodation weakness, CRTA, intraocular pressure, prediction of myopia progression.
