In the article there is represented the data of foreign literature about the influence of myopia in children and adults on the functioning of different retinal components, including photoreceptors, bipolar cells and interior retinal segments. Types of electroretinography (ERG), investigation protocol of the general ERG, disturbances of the retinal conductivity and possible mechanisms of an ERG data decrease in myopia are discussed.
