Abstract
EEG markers of the functional state of the brain in children with amblyopia associated with treatment using neuropeptides

The Research Center of Mental Health, Moscow
The Morozov City Pediatric Clinical Hospital of the Health Department of Moscow, Moscow
Purpose. The study of electrophysiological characteristics associated with a combined treatment, which involves the use of Cortexin ® and Retinalamin ® medicines.
Material and methods. The study included 30 children Diagnosed with amblyopia (4-12 years), they were Divided into 3 groups with the treatment using the transcutaneous electrostimulation, the color-pulse therapy, the computer program «TIC». Patients of the group 1 received Cortexin ® 10 mg/m Daily, the group 2 – Retinalamin® , the group 3 was formed as a control one. The EEG examination was performed before therapy, 1 and 3 months after the end of treatment.
Results. The obtained Data clearly indicates certain regularities in the EEG Dynamics in the treatment with the neuropeptides there was noted a reduction in the spectral power of slow-wave rhythms in anterior regions of the brain (the effects persisted in the re-examination 3 months later).
Conclusion. The application of Cortexin ® and Retinalamin ® in unilateral amblyopia in children is not a cause of increase of paroxysmal or epileptic-form activity according to the EEG Data.
Key words: amblyopia, electroencephalography (EEG), neuropeptides, Cortexin ® , Retinalamin®.
