Purpose. To perform a correlation analysis of morphological changes in the macula with functional photosensitivity disorders detected by microperimetry and OCT-angio in patients with wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Material and methods. 62 patients (62 eyes) with AMD were analyzed (average age – 67.84±1.42 years) including 35 women and 27 men. Examination of patients included determination of the best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), ophthalmobiomicroscopy, microperimetry and OCT-angio.
Results. The average macular photosensitivity value significantly depends on the maximum PED diameter, on the maximum neuroepithelium thickness in the area of macular edema. There is a significant decrease in the local retinal photosensitivity value in the presence of intraretinal cysts. The most pronounced decrease in the photosensitivity and BCVA was observed in patients with "classic" CNV and subretinal fibrosis.
Conclusion. Morphofunctional analysis revealed that the macular photosensitivity significantly depends on the PED diameter, the maximum neuroepithelium thickness in the area of macular edema and the presence of intraretinal cysts. A pronounced decrease in photosensitivity is observed in the area of CNV and subretinal fibrosis.
Key words: microperimetry, optical coherence tomography, angiography, age-related macular degeneration.
