Ophthalmological manifestations of pharmacotherapy: substituent hormonal therapy in women

There is discussed in the article an impact of substituent hormonal therapy on a development of eye diseases in female patients in peri– and post-menopause. A distribution of receptors to estrogens in ocular tissue is presented and possible mechanisms of estrogen impact on development and prevention of glaucoma, dry eye syndrome, age-related macular degeneration and cataract.
