    A clinical case of the development of Valsalva's retinopathy in patient J., 66 years old,after nervous stress, severe cough is presented. The revealed enlargement, dark color and tortuosity of the veins indicate that there was a venous stasis resulting from an increase in intrathoracic pressure leading ultimately to an increase in intraocular venous pressure and, as a consequence, to rupture of small capillaries and hemorrhages.

    The results of our observation confirm the data that with Valsalva's retinopathy the process can proceed favorably even in the absence of treatment, which corresponds to the literature data.
