Abstract
Results of analysis of retinal ganglion cell complex in the early period after closed eye injury

The S. Fyodorov Eye Microsurgery Federal State Institution, Moscow
Purpose. To study morphometric parameters of retinal ganglion cell complex using the spectral optical coherence tomography in patients in the early period after a closed contusion ocular injury of the mild and moderate severity.
Material and methods. The study of the retinal ganglion cell complex was performed by the spectral optical coherence tomography using the RTVue-100 (Optovue Inc., USA) in 56 patients within the early follow-up period after the closed ocular injury.
Results. In patients in the early period after the closed injury, there was revealed a thickening of the retinal ganglion cell complex layer of the injured eye.
Conclusion. The authors associate the observed pattern with edema of axons of retinal ganglion cells.
