    The significance of the state of antioxidant defense of children with retinopathy of prematurity (literature review)

    The problem of early diagnosis of retinopathy of prematurity (RP) at the modern stage remains highly relevant in connection with the increasing number of children with such pathology. The literature review is devoted to the issues of organism antioxidant protection of premature newborn babies. An important factor in the RP pathogenesis is the development of oxidative stress due to an increased production of free radicals, which have a distractive effect on various organs, including the eye retina. Despite the numerous clinical and experimental RP studies, the search of the optimal criteria of forecasting the development and diagnostics of such ophthalmic pathology remains relevant.
